Feeling Overwhelmed? Try This....

It’s hard to lose weight and feel your best when you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Sometimes you find yourself so overwhelmed with life that your health and fitness becomes the least of your priorities. You give, give, and give but what happens when you run out of yourself to give? In society we are taught that it’s selfish to put yourself first, but is it really wrong to put your emotional, physical, and mental well-being first? How can you be the best version of yourself, if you don’t take care of yourself? One reason people gain or have trouble losing weight is because of stress. Typically we stress because we worry about things that have yet to happen. I personally spent my life as a worrier. I worried about everything. My mind would just come up with anything to worry about, and it would consume me. If this happens to you, then I want to help you clear your mind, so that God can direct your life.

Let’s do an exercise that you can do anywhere and anytime, I call it “Let Go”. So we are going to do a few reps of “Let Go”(s). In this exercise we are going to focus on Letting Go of worry about money.

I want you to find a quiet spot. It can be the bathroom, car, at work, or anywhere. (If you want to play soothing music, you can)

We will use the 4-7-8 breathing technique, focus on the following breathing pattern:

  • Empty the lungs of air

  • Breathe in quietly through the nose for 2 seconds for beginners or 4 seconds for advance

  • Hold the breath for a count of 3.5 seconds for beginners or 7 seconds for advance

  • Exhale forcefully through the mouth, pursing the lips and making a "whoosh" sound, for 4 seconds for beginners or 8 seconds for advance

  • Repeat the cycle up to 4 times

Now that we have relaxed our body, let’s Let Go.

  • We are going to inhale and exhale. No need to hold your breath this time.

  • On your inhale, I want you to think “I thank God that I live in abundance”

  • On your exhale, I want you to think “therefore I let go of money worries”

  • Repeat at least 5 times or more.

  • Now I want you to take a few moments to think about how good it feels to have all the money you will ever need. Allow the joy you feel when you know that your bank account has so much money in it. I want you to picture in your mind how you would use it. Are you taking a family vacation? Are you helping others? Are you buying the home of your dreams? Put a big smile on your face, laugh with joy out loud because you are so amazed at how overflowing with abundance you are.

  • Now, throughout the day when any negative thoughts come to you about your finances, I want you to say out loud "I live in abundance right now"



Why do you want to let go of your stresses? Because stressing over anything never solves it. God can bring more good into your life or solutions to problems when your mind is free and clear. Feeling stress blocks you from solutions. If you aren’t earning enough, instead of stressing, you can now ask God to direct you in the direction to increase your finances. You can use this technique for anything that is causing you to stress. Take the time to Let Go, so that you can live your best life!
